Alan Freeman writes: “It was a delightful Christmas gift to be reminded of Dylan Thomas' "A Child's Christmas in Wales" - is a very great favorite of mine - especially a recording I heard on the BBC many years ago made by the late Richard Burton. Burton never registered high in my appreciation but I have to admit that his Welsh cadences were never put to better use, in my estimation, than in the reading of that of that work. I recall seeing that Thomas and Burton were old drinking buddies so it may have had a special place for Burton too.”

Alan I could not find the Burton reading, but I did find one by Thomas himself and it is really quite wonderful If you want to read a sample clip, go the audio books corner website where there is a digitally re-mastered version of the 1952 recording. Michael Sierchio writes:

“Happy Ho Ho Ho - I would add "A Christmas Memory" by Capote.”

Yes. Michael I agree and thanks for the suggestion. I just reread it and it is wonderful:
